Our Story

The Delores Foundation, Inc.(TDF) was originally conceived in the heart of its founder, Rev. Vanessa B. Carter, on January 1, 2002. The Lord gave her a vision to begin a healing and transition ministry for women and children. The ministry’s focus would be to assist them in rebuilding their lives, by first, providing them a safe haven where they can be loved and nurtured; and then teaching them the skills they need to live productive lives.

As an orphaned child, Rev. Carter understands the pains of the broken and lowly of heart. She believes that this understanding has given way to the vision of TDF. Her compassion for others enables her to hear and understand the cries of the hurting and to deliver to them words of comfort and healing.

Rev. Carter’s experiences have offered her many opportunities to see the Lord transform lives as she has allowed Him to love through her. She has seen the difference renewed faith can make. Her experiences have increased her passion and desire to see lives become whole again and for men, women, and children to grow stronger spiritually, mentally and emotionally.
